We know as Christians according to Ephesians 1:10-13, “That in the dispensation of the fullness of time he might gather together in one of all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are in each; even in him. In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should to the praise of his Glory, who first trusted Christ.”
WIth this revelation, Travis was aware of a higher calling in his life, and God led him to First Corinthians Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Harvey Spivey. It is there where Travis was exposed to many areas of the music ministry. God allowed a relationship to develop that would foster as well as enhance the gifts that he had embedded in Travis’ spirit. As God continue to break up the fallow ground in Travis’ life and plant the seed of Faith, Travis began to be rooted in God’s word through pastoral teaching, praying and standing on the word of God. Travis began to realize that it was no longer singing but a music ministry.
Travis believes that the songs this choir sings must fully represent the work that God had given unto him must minister to the hearts, souls and minds of the people. Travis knew that as it is recorded in Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” With this, Travis knew that he had to dedicate his entire existence to the move of God, and upon surrendering himself, God blessed him and gave him the Vision to create “DETERMINED.” It was at this time that God took Travis through an in-depth study of his word to receive the fullness of his ministry and to learn the ways of the Lord. God then led Travis to the True Holiness Church of God under the pastoral teaching of Carl Jerome Harris. It is under this ministry, Travis is to witness firsthand the mighty move of God, and it is here where Pastor Harris models the professional and spiritual attributes of God. Through God’s wondrous works, he continues to elevate and move Travis from glory to glory in him.
